2012 Update For Beards And Gear!
It’s hard to believe that the boy in the picture above is going to be 3 next month, his sister will be 7 in a few months, and his new sister will be born in about 6 weeks! Yes, my wife and I will be running a zone defense from here on out. No more man to man. Hectic is the description of the day for my last 60 days! I’ve got a few shootouts, and gear reviews already finished that just need to be posted, but I thought I’d give you an idea of what’s coming up in 2012.
I’ll be trying to do some plug-in comparisons this year. It’s something that I’ve avoided in the past, because of how easily available demo versions of plug-ins are, but this has been something that many people have requested over the last year. I’m also going to be doing some comparisons of less expensive gear and their more expensive counterparts. This is another thing that a lot of you have been asking for. Cheaper mics against the more expensive “standards.” Cheap pre’s built into interfaces against more expensive outboard pre’s, and so on. Should be interesting to say the least.
I’ve got a ton in the works right now, but if you have ideas, questions, or anything that you think I should be rambling about, just let me know. Call me, email me, or comment below.
Until Next Time
The Bearded Man

I’d like to see the AT2020 vs AT4050 using on board interface pres and then the same using an external nice pre. Plus I don’t want any post editing. No eq, compression, etc. Just straight mic in all it’s own glory… or lack there of.
I’d also like to see something done with iO dock, Blue Spark microphone and Behringer B-2 Pro.
assuming that I can get my hands on any of those this year, your wish shall be granted.
